"While many books in the Fantasy genre find themselves somewhat redundant, at least for me, I found this one was strengthened by the characters and the underlying nuances. I am hopeful that the characters will continue to be strengthened by both personal growth and grown as a cast. If you want to be in on the beginning of an interesting journey that examines the creation of a god, and the blooming of love... read this book."

"Extremely entertaining old school style fantasy done RIGHT!"
"This fantasy grabbed me and set me down with a mug of ale from the first chapter! I'm reminded of classic D&D books I read as a kid - Dragonlance, Curse of The Azure Bonds, etc! There's a delightful modern touch to the characters but mostly this is targeted right in that very pleasant old school spot! I enjoyed this book as much as anything I've read in the last year. Rickk Berry III blasts himself onto the scene with this one! Very eager to check out the next volume in the series!"

"When Kaidia is already the best, what comes next? So much more..."
"With an omniscient narrator, Dragon in the Dark is an epic story of snarky, funny, seductive and interesting characters. So often in fantasy, we start to read the journey of an ordinary character and it's trials to become a hero. This story begins with heroes who will start their journey to become legends or much more than that. Nadia is a great warrior, but she knows she will never be as great as her sister. She joins her on a quest to defeat evil in an epic final battle with lots of action. On their way, they meet old friends, partners, lovers and enemies."

"What if your prayers could be answered by a living God? A God you can talk to, reach to and look into her eyes? A God who cares for justice even if she believes her acts are of revenge, even if she believes Gods aren't real. She acts and protects her people, her beloved ones, like no other invented God had before.
A tragedy set things in motion, and Kaidia was never the same. She became a God.
In this second volume, Kaidia will have to face a strong army set to destroy Valen and all its people. The warrior god will not pass on Rykar and other friends' help to gather her own army, rearrange the ranks, and build new orders to protect the Kingdom with personal combat and epic battles.
The descriptions are vivid and cinematic, allowing us to visualize the action alongside the humorous dialogue and the relationships of love that develop. Characters we already know from the first book will not disappoint you with their witty comments and epic scenes. It's hard to choose my favorite hero from so many amazing characters.
There is time for mourning, for regrouping, for planning, for war, for battle and for love.
“This is the part where you kiss with such passion that you make everyone in the room borderline uncomfortable.”

"Although this is a very short and quick story to read, the characters have distinct personalities and presence during the entire story.I couldn’t stop imagining the dialogue or action scenes like I was reading a graphic novel, where the cool characters have dark humor and snarky answers - especially the car chase scene, or when we picture his little daughter coming downstairs to meet her fate.I would prefer to have a bit more description and feel for the world, but this story almost feels like an introduction to a larger one. I can see Eron and Jacques becoming a series."
